CMS: WordPress
We’ll build your website using WordPress. WordPress is one of the most popular content management systems (CMS) available on the internet, used by millions of websites worldwide. It is an open-source (and free, yay) software platform that lets you create, manage, and publish web pages and blog posts.
Note: Don’t get confused by the similar terms. Wordshop is the name of our business. WordPress is the name of the world’s most popular CMS, which we happen to use to build most of our websites.
We also use WordPress to build most of our premium websites, because it’s just so good and versatile. That means when it comes time to upgrade your No Worries site in the future, you don’t need to start from scratch. WordPress will be with you the whole way.
In fact, as soon as we hand the website over to you, you can start adding your own content. New blog posts, pages, integrations, whatever you like. You can even add an e-commerce store or appointment booking plugin.
Theme: No Worries
WordPress sites are built using themes. There are lots of free and premium themes out there, of varying quality and visual appeal.
No Worries is Wordshop’s own theme. It’s based on Blocksy Premium, which in our opinion is one of the best themes out there for lightning-fast, infinitely expandable websites that are easy to manage.
The No Worries theme receives all the functionality and security updates released by the Blocksy team, so your website will always be up to date. Best part is, with the No Worries system you get all the benefits of the premium version of Blocksy, and you don’t need to pay anything extra for it!
Plugins
Plugins can supercharge your website, but bad ones can slow it down or break it. We select and set up a few excellent plugins for security, performance and SEO enhancement.
Getwid
This plugin adds additional options when working on pages and blog posts. Simple and effective.
Site Kit by Google
Site Kit helps you connect your website to Google. Use it to make the most of Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and Google Tag Manager.
All-in-one WordPress Security
No prizes for guessing what this plugin does. It’s one of the best, all-encompassing security plugins out there that will keep the hackers out of your site, and keep things running smoothly.
W3 Total Cache
This plugin uses some cool internet magic to make your website load faster.
Hosting & domain
If you’ve already bought a domain name and sorted out hosting, that’s fantastic. We’ll set your site up where it needs to be.
If you’d like to keep things in house, you can also buy your domain name and hosting through Wordshop.

- Domain name: The URL or address of your website, e.g. www.yourorganisation.co.nz. You’ll need to purchase this from a domain provider and pay a small annual fee to keep hold of it.
- Hosting: Your website needs to live somewhere, and that somewhere is a server. A server is basically a computer that’s on all the time so that people can always access the websites that are stored on it. Sort of. There are lots of hosting providers out there, some better than others. Do your research!
