This is what your blog could look like

The blog page of this website is an example of how your blog can look. There are a few things we can tweak:

  • Name of the blog
  • Layout
  • Information that displays on each card
  • Comments

Name of the blog

Instead of “Blog” you might like to call the blog page “News”, “Articles” or “Random ramblings from our team”. Whatever you like.

Layout

We’ve got three layouts you can choose from.

Card information

On the Blog page, each blog post is represented by a “card”. We can add a bit of extra information to those cards if you like:

  • Author of the post
  • Date and time of publication
  • Categories
  • Tags
  • Reading time

Comments

You can choose to enable or disable comments on your blog posts. Take a look at the bottom of this post to see what a comment section looks like.

Comments can be a great way to get your community involved with your organisation and spark discussion.

They can also be a real pain to moderate. No Worries websites have some built-in security to help prevent bots from posting spam on your site, but you’ve still got to keep an eye out for trolls and offensive comments.

Up to you!

About blogs

The word “blog” may evoke the image of a basement-dweller publishing his hot takes on the latest episode of House of the Dragon, or perhaps your aunt’s online travel diary. In our case, a blog is just the software that lets you write articles on your website.

Those articles might be updates on your organisation, product announcements, “We’re hiring” notices, or anything else you’d like to post.

Benefits of Blogs

Blogs are an excellent way to improve your website’s search engine optimisation (SEO). Better SEO means your website ranks higher on Google when people search for things related to your organisation.

Search engines love lots of fresh, relevant, and quality content, and a blog is a great way to provide this.

A blog is also a great way to keep people updated on what you’re up to, and keep them coming back to your website to read new content.

It’s also a good place to put all that information you can’t find somewhere else for, or that might not stay relevant for long. Write a blog post about it, share it on your social media and in your newsletter. Boom.
